The Vallès Oriental Private Foundation (Fundació Privada Vallès Oriental – FVO) is a non-profit organisation helping people with learning difficulties in Catalonia with a view to promoting their welfare and that of their families.

The FVO’s operations are governed by the Third Book of the Civil Code of Catalonia Act 4/2008, of 24 April, concerning organisations, and by the Third Book of the Civil Code of Catalonia Amendment Act 7/2012, of 15 June.

The FVO identifies with the general interest as a pioneer of social action that is always closer to people than to the public authorities. Its role is not to fill gaps left by the authorities, but rather to complement their commitment to society by caring for people with learning difficulties.

FVO demonstrates its identity by working every day to carry out and develop the activities established in its statutes. This statement reflects its strategy and its commitment to people with learning difficulties and their families. People with learning difficulties are legal subjects whose rights to as much autonomy as possible, equality of opportunity, good education and quality of life have to be recognised and guaranteed.

The FVO needs to be a quality organisation. Its standards must live up to the purpose for which it was founded in the way its founder foresaw, meeting society’s needs. All foundations must follow certain principles and act coherently towards those around them – beneficiaries, workers and donors. Their management must be transparent.

The FVO has been established as a permanent organisation and its aims are exclusively social. It carries out its activities on a strictly non-profit basis in accordance with the principle of maximum respect for the wishes of its founders.

It is governed by the will of the foundation and by the regulations made by its management board to interpret and develop its will, in accordance with the Third Book of the Civil Code of Catalonia Act 4/2008, of 24 April, concerning organisations, and by the Third Book of the Civil Code of Catalonia Amendment Act 7/2012, of 15 June.

The FVO’s registered address is established in Carretera de Valldoriolf (no number) at La Roca del Vallès.

In accordance with current legislation, it has its own full legal identity and capacity to act.

The FVO enjoys all procedural privileges and tax benefits granted by the applicable legislation, under which the FVO is strictly non-profit and is established for an unlimited period.
